Cheryl Parsons

Cheryl started out looking after her disabled Grandfather which steered her in the direction of a career in Care. She studied an Advanced GNVQ in Health and Social Care at Yeovil College and went on to a HNC in Psychology & Criminology at the University of Teesside.
Cheryl started out caring for neighbours and friends elderly residents and then moved on to become a Care Assistant in Nursing and Residential Homes with High Dependency units for Young Physically Disabled, Progressive Dementia, Huntingdon's and Parkinson's. She grew throughout her roles as Senior Carer into assisting the Home Trainer.
She felt that she wanted to be more hands on and so became a Senior Carer/Trainer for a number of agencies throughout Somerset where she gained experience and knowledge in a wide range of care sectors and areas. In early 2010 Cheryl was taken on by a local care agency to provide strategic help and support to increase hours and to devise a structured Intro to Care course and induction programme for new Care Workers. This was a huge success and she felt that she wanted to carry on her Career in training future bright and enthusiastic care and support workers and this led her to joining the Carewatch Bath Team in August of this year, to carry on that objective.
